Day 3: The God Who Gives Richly
God isn't a cosmic killjoy demanding joyless austerity. He "gives us richly all things to enjoy." This liberating truth frees us from both prosperity gospel excess and false piety poverty. God provides—sometimes abundantly—not so we can hoard or boast, but so we can enjoy His goodness and share generously. The sandwich can be delicious. The sunset can take your breath away. The blessing can be received with gratitude, not guilt. But here's the key: we must hold everything with open hands, recognizing God as the true Provider, not our job, investments, or abilities. When we're "rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share," we store up eternal treasure while enjoying temporal blessings. God's grace allows you to both receive His gifts joyfully and steward them faithfully.
Reflection: How can you enjoy God's blessings today while maintaining generosity and eternal perspective?
