Day 1: When God Speaks, Will You Listen?
"Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah..." God speaks clearly to His people. The question is never whether God is speaking, but whether we're listening. Jonah heard God's voice but chose to flee in the opposite direction. How often do we do the same? When God's word challenges our comfort zones or asks us to love those we'd rather judge, we can find ourselves booking passage to our own Tarshish.
God's word is not merely information—it's transformation. It comes with power, authority, and purpose. When you read Scripture, you're not just reading ancient texts; you're encountering the living God who still speaks today. The word that came to Jonah is the same word available to you through Scripture and the Holy Spirit's prompting.
Reflection Question: What is God asking you to do that you've been avoiding? What "Nineveh" has He called you toward?
Application: Spend time in silence today, asking God to reveal any area where you've been running from His voice. Write down what He brings to mind and commit to one step of obedience.
